I am grateful to have the opportunity to help clients access their bodies and process past experiences in a way that provides them with a sense of safety and autonomy.

I enjoy working with clients who have a history of being in therapy for years yet feel that something has been missing; often appropriate assessment for dissociation is that something. I work with clients living with complex trauma histories including those who meet the criteria for a dissociative disorder (i.e. DID).

If you are a clinician working with a similar population, I’d love to support you in gaining and maintaining confidence with working with clients who present with dissociation/dissociative disorders. If you work with complex trauma, you work with dissociation. I’m here to help you bridge the gap you may be experiencing as you provide therapy to folks with complex trauma histories.

It can be daunting to organize treatment, identify effective interventions, and manage your own “stuff” when working with significant trauma-related dissociation. I help consultees find solid ground in their understanding of how to prioritize interpersonal process alongside theory to reinforce their conceptualization skills and understanding of how dissociation shows up in the clinical space.

If you work with clients who have experienced significant emotional neglect, violence (psychological, physical, or sexual), or high-control relationships (in their romantic partnerships, family systems, or a religious organization/cult) I’d be a great fit for your consultation needs.

I prepare those who consult with me to be able to maintain an ongoing, effective conceptualization of their clients and their client’s history. I’ll support you in considering pacing, transference, countertransference, and appropriate resourcing for your clients. From our consultation appointments, you’ll become more confident and clear about allowing the therapeutic relationship to unfold as you settle into your increased understanding of trauma-related dissociation.

A complex case can leave your head spinning. Without solid theory and support, it can feel impossible to get treatment moving. It can also feel challenging to connect with complex clients and maybe you can’t get your head around what the barrier might be. You may feel as if you don’t have the language to describe what you’re experiencing and just feel tired, confused, or unfocused.

Using an interpersonal, psychodynamic approach , I specialize in the assessment and intervention of dissociation.  Often the material we are seeking lies within the relational dynamic “in the room.” Dissociation is easily missed, poorly defined, or unacknowledged. This can result in weaker conceptualization that leaves both client and clinician feeling stuck in a loop. It can be difficult to unpack on your own. Talking it out with someone you trust prevents burnout and even adds that spark back to the work. I specialize in attachment trauma, PTSD with dissociation, and other dissociative disorders. I have experience working with DID, substance abuse disorders, co-occurring OCD, and eating disorders. The most common client seeking me out has been in therapy for many years but has found it difficult to connect with and be understood by providers.

As a trainer and consultant, I’ll be your partner in exploring the tough cases while structuring treatment and strong conceptualization. I value humor and warmth while working together.  My priority is empowering consultees to trust themselves while experiencing uncertainty in the work.
Consultees value my easy manner and ability to provide language for abstract case dynamics. Feedback I have received has highlighted my ability to make complex ideas digestible in fun ways. I can offer readings, videos, referrals, guidance on utilizing appropriate inventories for dissociation. While I am an EMDRIA approved consultant, I utilize interventions of a diverse variety. It is also my commitment to remain a life-long learner and I enjoy the privilege of learning much from my consultees as well.
